Full Stack PHP Web Developer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Web Developer with team leading experience to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of developers, developing and maintaining web applications using Laravel, PHP, JavaScript and CSS hosted on AWS. The ideal candidate should have a passion for writing clean and efficient code, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong desire to learn and grow.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers in designing, developing, testing, and deploying new features and web applications
  • Develop technical specifications and architecture documentation
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that code is well-documented and adheres to best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new features and improve existing ones
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Optimise code and databases
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and programming languages relevant to web development
  • Act as a technical advisor and provide guidance to the team on complex technical issues
  • Collaborate with project managers to estimate project timelines, prioritise work, and ensure that deliverables are met on time and within budget
  • Continuously monitor and improve development processes and workflows
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in web development
  • Strong experience with Laravel, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, SQL and hosting environments
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of developers
  • Experience with database design
  • Familiarity with version control systems
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
  • Solid understanding of security best practices in web development
  • Fluency in English but knowledge of other languages will be an advantage too

Nice to have:

  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Financial service industry experience
  • Experience with banking or payment integrations
  • Understanding of blockchain technologies
  • Security framework experience, PCI-DSS, NIST etc.
